The ruins of the malthouse and drying room of the brewery in Głubczyce are a relic of a production plant dating from the second half of the 19th century. It was created to serve the breweries existing in the area, including the manufactory founded by the brewer Wilhelm Haude on Fabryczna Street, which currently belongs to the Głubczyce Brewing Plants.
Głubczyce is famous for its long traditions in the brewing industry. Before World War II, there were over 30 malthouses and breweries in the town, due to favorable climatic conditions enabling high yields of very good quality brewing barley used for malt production, as well as high-quality hops used for beer production. In the days of its greatest glory, malt produced in Głubczyce was sent all over the world.
In connection with the opening of a new malthouse in the 1980s, the malthouse on Niepodległości Street ceased production. Currently, the facility is not in use.
