The Lower Gate Tower in Prudnik was built in the Gothic style at the end of the 15th century as part of the town's defensive walls. Despite the demolition of the fortifications in the 19th century, the tower survived to modern times, becoming one of the symbols of the town.
The lower, two-story part of the tower, blended into the walls of tenement houses, has a square plan that transitions into an octagon. The structure was made of fieldstone, using plastered brick. The facility is crowned with crenellations and a conical helm roof. On the elevations, regularly spaced arrow slits can be seen. On the ground floor elevations, traces of bricked-up sections and traces of the non-existent gate building are visible. In the 20th century, a pedestrian passage was pierced through the tower to facilitate communication with the rest of the town.
