The Mausoleum of the Opole Piasts in Opole is located in the Franciscan church of the Holy Trinity. In the side Chapel of St. Anne (known as the Piast Chapel), which was erected in the second half of the 14th century by the Duke of Opole Bolesław III, destined as a necropolis for the Opole Piasts, one can see two 14th-century ducal sarcophagi. These are the tombs of Duke Bolesław III and his wife Anna. In the chapel, there are also carved figures of the Dukes of Opole: Bolesław I and Bolesław II. The dukes are depicted in armor, and on their heads are mitres – a sign of ducal authority. At the feet of the duchess lies a dog – a symbol of loyalty.
