The Aviation Traditions Chamber in Ligota Dolna is located in an earth cellar renovated by the residents, which is situated next to the entrance gate to the premises of the pilot school that operated in this place in the years 1946–1949.
In the chamber, you can view archival materials, including photos, books, and documents, as well as model airplanes donated by pilots training in Ligota Dolna.
The airfield was selected as the location for the school because there were extensive technical facilities in the form of two former German hangars and buildings where instructional staff and trainees could be accommodated. The airport also possessed a long grassy runway. At the turn of 1949 and 1950, the school relocated its activities to Wrocław, changing its name to the Aviation Training Center. After this event, the school buildings were taken over by a trading company, and the land was parceled out among the surrounding farmers.
