The Pilgrimage Church of St. Anne in Czarnowąsy is a 21st-century reconstruction of a temple from the second half of the 17th century, which was created on the initiative of the provost of the local monastery Balthasar De Gerbert von Hornan. The previous building burned down in a fire in 2005. Like the original, the modern building has a log structure, and it is distinguished by arcades and a small turret. The new main altar and polychrome are stylized to the Baroque period. The interior of the church does not have historic features, with the exception of decor elements saved from the fire: the figure of St. Anne in the main altar, the figure of St. Barbara, the tabernacle with two chalices, metal vases, candlesticks, grates, and the baptismal font destroyed by fire. In place of the destroyed side altars, new ones appeared – one dedicated to Pope John Paul II, and the other – to Divine Mercy. The plaques of the Stations of the Cross are also contemporary. Part of the old cemetery has been preserved around the church to this day. The object is located on the Trail of Wooden Architecture of the Opole Voivodeship. Practical information: Generally accessible from the outside, the interiors are accessible daily after the morning and evening mass or by prior telephone arrangement. Sightseeing time: up to 1 hour.
