The Church of St. Francis of Assisi in Nysa with the monastery complex was built in the second half of the 17th century in the traditional Capuchin style, also referred to as Tuscan Baroque. In the area occupied by the current church, there was a hospital for women affected by leprosy, with the chapel of St. Lazarus and the church of St. Lawrence from the 15th century. The historic complex is characterized by a austere, ascetic architectural form.
In the Neo-Romanesque cabinet altar, in the central part, there is a figure of the Mother of God the Queen with the Child in her arms. On her sides, in niches, stand sculptures of St. Barbara and St. Aloysius. The altar is crowned by a statue of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and figures of saints Peter, Paul, St. John the Evangelist, and a bishop. In one of the side altars there is a figure of St. Joseph, and in the other – a figure of St. Francis of Assisi made in 1968 by the artist-sculptor Franciszek Masorz from Rybnik.
At the entrance to the church, there is a figure of St. John of Nepomuk, moved here in the 18th century from the bridgehead of the Wrocław Bridge.
