The District Museum in Nysa is a place with a rich collection of exhibits related to the history and cultural richness of the region. Alongside archaeological finds, one can see in the institution, among others, a collection of European painting, bourgeois and court furniture, and militaria. Currently, in the museum, one can view exhibitions with exhibits coming from regional excavations, artistic craftsmanship, militaria, and objects of daily use from the 19th and 20th centuries, as well as an art collection with paintings by Dutch, Flemish, German, and Italian painters. The museum's collections include, among others, a painting by Lucas Cranach the Elder "Judith with the Head of Holofernes" from the 16th century, a canvas by Albrecht Dürer titled "Melencolia I," a glass of St. Hedwig of Silesia from the 11th century, or the Nysa Bible originating from 1354. One of the more interesting permanent exhibitions is the exhibition documenting witch trials conducted on the Nysa-Jesenik borderland. Temporary exhibitions of artists from the country and abroad, museum lessons, author meetings, and conferences are organized in the Museum. The seat of the museum is the Bishop's Palace in Nysa – the former residence of the bishops of Wrocław, from which they exercised power over the duchy with its capital in Nysa. The facility, whose architecture is compared to the Lateran Palace in Rome, was erected in the Italian Baroque style at the turn of the 17th and 18th centuries. The representative city palace is counted among the leading works of Silesian Baroque architecture.
