The Museum of Polish Song in Opoleis the only center in Poland for information on the subject of Polish song. The Museum houses a large exhibition hall, listening booths, a cinema hall, a reading room, a playroom for children, and an educational room. The permanent exhibition presents the history of Polish song and the history of the National Festival of Polish Song, which takes place every year in Opole since 1963. Exhibits presented within its framework are CDs, manuscripts, photographs, posters, musical instruments, and costumes, which were donated by stage stars, musicians, composers, concert organizers, cultural institutions, and private individuals. Cyclical meetings with famous people of Polish song are organized in the museum, as well as with their families and heirs.
A special recording studio also operates there, in which one can record one's own song. At the entrance, every visitor receives headphones and an audioguide, which allows each person to individually get to know the history and development of Polish song.
