St. Anne's Chapel, also called the Piast Chapel, is located in the Church of the Holy Trinity in Opole. It was erected in the second half of the 14th century by the Duke of Opole Bolesław III, intended as a necropolis for the Opole Piasts. On the left side of the chapel are the carved figures of the Opole dukes Bolesław I and Bolesław II; on the right – one can see the tombstones of Duke Bolesław III and his wife Anna. The dukes are depicted in armor, and on their heads appear mitres – a sign of ducal power. At the feet of the duchess lies a dog – a symbol of fidelity.
Embedded in the walls of the chapel is the tombstone of Jan Prószkowski, chancellor of the Duke of Opole Jan Dobry, as well as the Baroque tombstone of Katarzyna, Urszula, and Dorota, three daughters of the Opole burggrave Daniel Scholz. In the vault of the chapel, there is a keystone with the coat of arms of the Upper Silesian Piasts. It is the oldest depiction of the modern coat of arms of the Opole Voivodeship.
