The Church of St. John the Evangelist in Paczkówwas created in the second half of the 14th century on the site of earlier temples from the foundation of the Bishop of Wrocław Przecław of Pogorzela.
In the 16th century, the church was fortified, and a shooting gallery was created in the church walls, which made the building an important part of the municipal defensive forces.
The Chapel of the Blessed Virgin Mary dates from the 15th century, which at the end of the 16th century served as the burial chapel of the Maltitz family. Inside, one can see the only altar in Central Europe carved from a single piece of sandstone, as well as two paintings: Our Lady of Częstochowa and Our Lady Protector of the Unborn from Zlaté Horyin the Czech Republic. In turn, the Chapel of St. Roch with a Rococo altar and a painting of its patron comes from the 18th century.
Inside the church, one can see a stone well that was created in the 16th century. There are also monuments of sculptural art, including works made by Veit Stoss (Wit Stwosz), a painting by Hieronymus Richter, an altar in the Neo-Gothic style, and a pulpit from the 19th century. The Gothic vault of the temple also deserves attention.
