The grave of Edmund Osmańczyk by the "Na Górce" ("On the Hill") church in Opole is the resting place of a highly distinguished Opole resident and senator of the Opole land who died in 1989. In the 1930s, he was the editor of "Młody Polak" ("The Young Pole"), and then the manager of the Press Headquarters of the Union of Poles under the sign of Rodło in Germany and one of the organizers of the Congress of Poles in Germany in 1938. He avoided arrest by quickly leaving for Poland, where he hid during the occupation and later took part in the Warsaw Uprising.
After World War II, he was a journalist working in the country and abroad. Honored with Honoris Causa doctorates from several universities and higher education institutions, including Opole and Wrocław.
At his own request, with the consent of the Bishop's Curia in Opole, he was buried near the "Na Górce" church.
