Stara Wieś is the smallest village in the Opole region, located in the Głubczyce municipality, on the route: Głubczyce - Pomorzowiczki - Klisino. It is inhabited by about 30 people who live in 11 houses. In the years after World War II, it was a place where Poles from the Eastern Borderlands were resettled. The village is located a short distance from the Polish-Czech border. On the Czech side of the border, a narrow-gauge railway runs from the town of Osoblaha, which is one of the greatest tourist attractions in the area.
