The Ice House (Domek Lodowy) in Opole is a historic wooden house from the beginning of the 20th century, located on Pasieka Island. The Lusatian-style building was designed by Theodor Ehl. It stood next to the Piast Castle after the moat was liquidated, on the initiative of the famous Opole photographer Max Glauer. The main headquarters of the Skating Society was located inside. In addition to it, cafes operated in the facility, and a marina for boats was built in front of the House. In the 1930s, a professional ice rink was opened on the Castle Pond, where the German Figure Skating Championships were held in 1934. In the second half of the 20th century, a youth hostel and a cafe operated in the House, and currently, a restaurant operates in it. Additional information: Generally accessible from the outside, the interior is accessible during the restaurant's opening hours. Paid parking spaces on Piastowska Street (paid parking zone).
