The cross-river ferry on the Oder in Zdzieszowice is a crossing that has been operating for 160 years. Initially – in connection with the privilege granted to the Gach family by the lord of the surrounding lands, Count von Gaschin – it was used to transport salt via the river. Currently, it is the only hand-operated ferry in Central Europe. Under normal weather conditions, it runs on the Zdzieszowice – Mechnica route all year round, from dawn to night. It is operated by a vessel named "Józef", which was built in 1987 in the shipyard in Koźle. Additional information: Free crossing. Free parking spaces on both sides of the Oder.
