The Franciscan Astronomical Observatory in Głogówek is located in a former outbuilding, by the Franciscan monastery founded from the endowment of Duke Władysław Opolczyk in the mid-13th century. On the first floor, you can see an exhibition dedicated to the history of the town and the Franciscan monastery with artifacts, documents, photos, and descriptions documenting the history of the stronghold on the Osobłoga river – from medieval times to 1990. On the second floor, there is an astronomical observatory equipped with a 5-meter automatic rotating dome and a telescope for viewing celestial bodies at night. Additional information: The observatory is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Paid admission. Free parking spaces in the municipal market square.
