Goświnowice is a village located in the Nysa district, in the Nysa municipality. Its highest elevations are: Góra Strażnicza - 269 m above sea level, and Góra Krzyżowa - 257 m above sea level.
The first mention of the town comes from 1280, in the context of a worker named Kuntze. At the end of the 13th century, the name of the village also appears in the
Book of endowments of the Bishopric of Wrocław. In the Middle Ages, it was a knightly property. The greatest flourishing of the village occurred in the 19th century, when a brickyard and a steam-powered distillery were opened. In 1856, a steam mill started operating, and in 1860 – the largest cheese factory in the area. A brewery and a malthouse were established together with an earthenware factory in 1863.
In the mid-19th century, the owner of the estate was Carl Friedenthal, who built a manor house. The residence, along with the brewery, was destroyed in 1945.
To this day, an avenue of chestnut trees has been preserved in the village at the parish cemetery, where until World War II stood the parish church dedicated to the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
