Trails in the Silesian and Opole Provinces

Gotartów is a village located in the Kluczbork district, in the Kluczbork municipality. Hans Lipinsky-Gottersdorf – a writer who created in German – grew up in the town. He was born in Leśnica, but in 1932, when he was 12 years old, his father inherited the manor house in Gotartów, which had been in the family's possession for two hundred years. After moving, Hans's father administered the manor house and worked as a lawyer in Kluczbork. After finishing school, Hans worked in farming. When World War II broke out, he was drafted into the German army. In 1945 he was taken prisoner, from which he was released in 1947. In 1945, after the village was incorporated into the Polish state, fruit orchards were planted on the abandoned lands. In later years they covered about 550 ha – these were mainly apple orchards. Organizationally, Gotartów belonged first to the Kochłowice State Agricultural Farm Complex, and then to the Kluczbork State Agricultural Farm Inspectorate. For some time it was an independent plant, later this plant was managed by the Krzywizna State Agricultural Farm. In the 1980s, the Gotartów plant was incorporated into the Opole Horticultural Combine.
