Trails in the Silesian and Opole Provinces

Bogacica is a village located in the Opole Voivodeship, in the Kluczbork district, in the Kluczbork municipality. It occupies the northern edge of the largest compact forest territory of the Opole region, stretching between the ridge of Góra Chełmska, the Stobrawa river, and the upper Liswarta. The beginnings of Bogacica date back to the mid-13th century: in 1274, the village was mentioned under the name Bogatalanta, which can be translated as "Rich Meadow". The first traces of settlement in this area are stone tools found on the banks of the Stobrawa west of Bogacica. As a result of archaeological works, traces of watchtowers were also found. Among the objects of a historical nature in the village is the eclectic church of the Holy Trinity built at the end of the 16th century, the grave of Silesian insurgents in the church cemetery, and a late Classicist manor known as the New Castle, erected in the mid-18th century, around which a part of the former grange buildings has survived.
