Świerczów is a village located in the Namysłów district, in the Świerczów municipality.
The first mentions of it appear in the 13th century in the context of the ducal castle located in the village, and in the following century, the town was supposed to have market rights.
The population inhabiting the village was mainly engaged in agriculture, crafts, and trade. The village buildings formed a compact development, and most of the houses and farm buildings in the village date from before World War II. The preserved historic buildings in the village include the branch church of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, built in the years 1923-1924 on the initiative of three missionaries coming from this town – Franz Xavier Biallas, Joseph Wallek, and Rev. Julius Losse (the parish priest in Bąkowice).
The church houses a bell from 1784 cast by Jan Jerzy Krieger in Wrocław. It was transferred from the old village bell tower. The monuments of the village also include a Catholic burial cemetery, with a former Jewish cemetery located on its left side, within which there is a Neo-Gothic chapel.
