Zawadzkie is a town in the Strzelce district and the seat of the Zawadzkie urban-rural municipality.
The first mentions concerning the areas comprising the Zawadzkie municipality come from the 14th century. They concern the functioning forge in Żędowice and the parish in Kielcza. After the construction of the Zawadzki Plant in 1836 (named after the first general director, Franciszek von Zawadzky), a workers' colony named Zawadzkie was created. At first, it was called Moczydoła, due to the multitude of swamps and ponds in the vicinity of the irregularly flowing Mała Panew river. It was a district of houses built to the northeast of the finery forges of that time. Zawadzkie began to take shape as a town at the end of the 19th century. In the interwar period, successive residential complexes and a public utility building were built on its territory, including today's Municipal Office in Zawadzkie, the railway station, and the middle school. Zawadzkie obtained town rights in 1962.
