Głębocko is a village located in the Brzeg district, in the Grodków municipality.
The first information about the village comes from 1272, when its name was Tyfense, from the surname of the first owner – Dietrich Deczko de Tyfense. His seat was a castellan castle surrounded by water and defending the passage through a ford. The fortified structure stood on a small elevation near the Nysa Kłodzka river and was surrounded by a moat and numerous swamps. Later, it was expanded and surrounded by an outer rampart. The castle was one of the seats of Henry IV Probus, and from the 15th century, it belonged to the von Dresky family – owners of many nearby towns. Numerous tombstones and epitaphs of representatives of this family are located by the churches in Grodków, Gałązczyce, and Tułowice. The castle was destroyed at the end of the 15th century. To this day, the remains of an embankment of the residential and defensive buildings and a tower surrounded by a shallow moat have survived in Głębocko. Today, this object belongs to the most magnificent defensive setups of this type in the Opole Voivodeship.
