Kamienna Góra is a hamlet of the village of Nadziejów, which is located in the Nysa district, in the Otmuchów municipality. For centuries, the granite deposits of the Strzelin and Žulová massifs have been exploited there. The main products that were produced from them in the initial period were cobblestones, paving blocks, curbstones, and building stone. Granite has been used in construction for thousands of years. For example, Egyptian pyramids, Inca buildings, and ancient structures of Greece and Italy were built from it. A massive development of Polish granite construction took place during the times of Casimir the Great. Currently, granite has a much wider application: it is also used for the production of floor slabs, steps, claddings, and columns. Near the mine in Kamienna Góra, there is a flooded quarry, which is a stop during bicycle trips from Nysa. In 1866, Kamienna Góra was visited by Frederick III, the future King of Prussia. A souvenir of this event was a commemorative plaque on the wall of the inn where the heir to the throne stayed.
