Walce is a village in the Krapkowice district, lying in the Prudnik land. The first mention of the town comes from the beginning of the 13th century, along with its founding by the Cistercians from Lubiąż. In the following decades, it passed into the management of the Norbertine order from Czarnowąsy, and then – the bishopric of Wrocław. On the landed estate located in the village, the von Schweinichen family built a castle in 1675, which in the second decade of the 19th century became the property of the Walliczek family, and in the middle of the century – the von Scher-Thoss family. In 1929, due to debt, the estate was taken over by the state. The parceling of the estate led to the flourishing of the village – numerous agricultural farms were established during this period.
In the village, to modern times, a manor and grange complex, a 19th-century Dutch windmill, a 19th-century church of St. Valentine, and a monument to soldiers fallen in World War I have survived. Within the municipality, the rural layout of the villages in Brożec, Stradunia, and Grocholub, as well as the palace and grange complex in Rozkochów, also have a historic character.
