The Kamieniec Reserve lies within the "Lasy Stobrawsko-Turawskie" Protected Landscape Area and within the boundaries of the Szumirad Natura 2000 area, on the lands of the village of Szumirad.
The purpose of its establishment is to preserve forest, peat bog, and aquatic communities. The Dobra river, a tributary of the Budkowiczanka, flows through the reserve, which influences the diversity of the reserve's natural habitats. Transition mires and quaking bogs, raised bogs, bog woodland, natural eutrophic water bodies, a river with water-crowfoot communities, fresh coniferous forest, and alder carr occur here. The flora of the reserve is exceptionally rich and places the reserve among the most floristically rich protected areas in the Opole Voivodeship. 180 species of vascular plants grow on its territory, including taxa subject to legal protection or endangered on a regional or national scale. A small population of Zeiller's clubmoss deserves attention. It is the only known site of this species in the Opole Voivodeship and one of the few in the country. Among the animals, species such as the little grebe, black stork, water rail, European turtle dove, black woodpecker, Eurasian beaver, and dragonflies: the banded darter, northern emerald, and large white-faced darter live there. A walking and cycling route from the village of Szumirad leads to the reserve.
