The Jeleni Dwór nature reserve was created to protect a fragment of a mixed forest of natural origin, constituting a remnant of the former Niemodlin Primeval Forest.
The area of the reserve is overgrown with a mixed forest with a predominance of sessile oak and pine. The following also occur in its area: pedunculate oak, silver birch, silver fir, Norway spruce, and European larch. The age of the oaks found there reaches 300 years.
Within the borders of the reserve, the occurrence of two protected species of vascular plants has been recorded: the broad-leaved helleborine and the running clubmoss, as well as species considered rare in the region: the small enchanter's nightshade, long-leaved stitchwort, and the broad buckler-fern. The reserve is characterized by a great diversity of mosses.
The reserve area is subject to active protection.
