The Bażany nature reserve is located in a forest complex which is a fragment of the "Lasy Stobrawsko-Turawskie" Protected Landscape Area. Its boundaries run about 100 m south of the village of Bażany.
The reserve was created to protect the natural pine stand situated on dunes, characterized by abundant habitats of juniper. Tree species found there also include the common yew and the pedunculate oak, and other protected flora specimens include the stiff clubmoss and alder buckthorn. A yellow cycling trail and a green hiking trail run through the reserve area.
