The Jaśkowice reserve is located 2 km southwest of Jaśkowice. It constitutes the bulwark of the Niemodlin Forests (Bory Niemodlińskie), the second-largest forest complex in the Opole Voivodeship in terms of area. Its distinguishing feature is a unique cluster of nearly 200-year-old larches – including a monumental specimen nearly 40 meters tall – and 160-year-old pines.
Over 50 species of vascular plants have been identified in the protected area. The reserve area – due to the close proximity of agricultural lands – does not constitute a wildlife refuge, but wild boars, red deer, and roe deer can be observed on its territory.
