The Płużnica nature reserve was created in order to preserve a fragment of a mixed forest of a natural character. The tree stand is dominated by beech, pine, and spruce, as well as pedunculate oak, common hornbeam, and silver birch. In turn, common species grow in the undergrowth, i.e. common bracken, early dog-violet, and European blueberry. Among breeding birds, the black woodpecker and the stock dove deserve special attention, as they find favorable living conditions in the reserve due to a significant number of hollow trees. Moreover, the partially protected broad-leaved helleborine occurs there, as well as the lesser periwinkle and the broad buckler-fern. Along the northern borders of the reserve, there are walking and cycling trails, including the most popular route from the PKP railway station in Błotnica Strzelecka, past the von Posadowsky Palace, and the border of the reserve to Toszek.
