The monument of Joachim Halupczok in Niwki commemorates the Polish cyclist who was born in the village. Achim – as he was commonly called – is depicted on a road bicycle.
The cyclist became famous for his passion for cycling, which allowed him to join the national team and at the age of 20 – together with Leśniewski, Jaskuła, and Sypytkowski – win a silver medal in the road race at the Olympic Games in Seoul in 1988.
The sportsman died at the age of 26 as a result of heart problems.
The author of the sculpture unveiled in 2010 is the Opole sculptor Wit Pichurski.
