The Plaque to the Victims of the Death March, located in front of the rural sports center in Niemysłowice, commemorates the victims of the Nazi so-called death marches – prisoners evacuated from German concentration camps, whom the Nazis evacuated at the end of the war from KL Auschwitz-Birkenau and its subcamps from the area of Upper Silesia towards KL Gross-Rosen and the Czech Republic. At least several dozen executions were carried out in the area of the current Opole Voivodeship. Among the victims of the marches, whose graves were found after the war in the Opole region, were, among others, Poles, Czechs, French, Belgians, Dutch, and Norwegians.
