The Monument to the Soldiers from "Bartek's" unit in Stary Grodków was unveiled in the place where mass graves were discovered, containing both human remains, bearing damage characteristic of explosions and gunshots, and artifacts such as gorgets, a scout cross, and a record of a soldier's song. Several individual grave pits and fragments of burned personal belongings were also found. Among those murdered by the secret services were one hundred members of the unit of Captain Henryk Flame, pseudonym "Bartek". Similar executions took place at the Scharfenberg estate (current Dworzysko) and in the village of Barut. Due to the mass nature of the murder and the method used by the security officers, these places are sometimes referred to as the "Silesian Katyn".
