The "Water Gauge" Monument in Krapkowice commemorates the floods visiting the town, and in particular the millennium flood of July 10, 1997. During this period, the culmination wave reached 10.32 meters, flooding 5,000 hectares of land, which led to the evacuation of 176 residents. The water in the Krapkowice Municipality flooded 350 homes and workplaces, and also destroyed the railway bridge on line 306, the road bridge on the Oder river, and two sewage treatment plants. The monument is made of a metal I-beam, on which the dates of the floods that plagued the town and their corresponding water levels are marked. In its upper part, there is an anchor. On a plaque placed on a stone boulder in front of the water gauge, there is an inscription: "Let nature be our teacher". Practical information: The facility can be viewed from the outside.
