The monument of Wincenty Mucha in Brzeg is an obelisk with a commemorative plaque unveiled in 2010 on the initiative of the Brzeg Headquarters of the Polish Scouting and Guiding Association (ZHP). Wincenty Mucha established the Independent Scout District in Tarnów, of which he was the commandant in the years 1937-1939. During World War II, he joined underground activities, cooperating with the Home Army, publishing and distributing underground newspapers, and participating in the production and transport of explosives on the premises of the Nitrogen Plants. Threatened with arrest, he left for Brzeg, where he again joined the scouting movement. In 1948, he was arrested on charges of belonging to the Freedom and Independence organization and sentenced to eight years in a harsh prison. After his release, he returned to his hometown of Jaworzno, where he died in 1978.
