The Monument to the Victims of Fascism in Blachownia Śląska is dedicated to the memory of the people murdered on the premises of the chemical plants at the intersection of Zwycięstwa and Szkolna streets in the years 1939-1945. During World War II, the Allied aviation carried out massive bombing raids, as a result of which the plants were destroyed.
After Kędzierzyn was occupied by the Red Army, the Russians dismantled the equipment and apparatus of the chemical plants. Some of the equipment was transferred to the rebuilt chemical plants in the cities of southern Poland. The monument with a commemorative plaque was carved in stone and placed on a terrazzo pedestal. It depicts lying human figures being crushed by stone blocks. The sculpture made by Jan Borowczak was erected in front of the gate of the chemical plants in the 1970s.
