The monument of Józef Elsner in Grodków commemorates the composer and musical culture activist born in the town in 1769, the teacher of Frédéric Chopin and the founder of the first higher music academy on Polish soil. The artist left behind many works of classical music, including masses, oratorio and cantata pieces, ballets, operas, concertos, symphonies, and chamber pieces.
The monument consists of a stone, rectangular base on which the surname and the year of birth and death of the composer appear, as well as his bust. The monument was unveiled in 1974.
