The St. Florian Fountain in Głubczyce was established to commemorate the great fire in the town in 1854. Towering above the fountain, which also serves as a well, is a sculpture depicting St. Florian, the patron saint of firefighters. The sculpture dates back to 1914. In one hand he holds a banner, in the other – a bucket of water, with which he extinguishes a fire in a small building located at his right foot. On the plinth, there are dolphins spouting water and municipal coats of arms. The saint is the patron of Głubczyce, and in the town's coat of arms, you can see boat hooks – an essential piece of equipment for every firefighter.
