The monument "To Polish Patriots" in Nysa was built in 2001, according to the design of the Nysa artist Marian Molenda, in the place where originally the obelisk dedicated to the "Fighters for Freedom and Democracy" was located. The monument – set on a plinth on the plan of an equilateral cross – pays tribute to the Polish citizens who fought and died in the name of the homeland's freedom over the years. It consists of two soaring marble blocks, each of which is crowned with an eagle's wing. The blocks are connected by a glass plate in which "symbols of Polishness", a birch cross, and barbed wire are embedded. By the monument, there is a commemorative plaque with a quote by Krzysztof Kamil Baczyński and a listing of the relics located in the monument. The monument is a place for celebrating holidays and other anniversary ceremonies. Practical information: The facility is generally accessible from the outside. No possibility to enter inside. Free parking at 33 Andersa Street.
