The monument of Joseph von Eichendorff in Dębowiec is located near the Prudnik–Dębowiec road, on Kobylica – a peak reaching 395 m above sea level. The monument is dedicated to Joseph von Eichendorff, one of the most prominent representatives of German Romanticism.
The poet left behind several hundred poems, epic poems, theater plays, novellas, short stories, and a novel.
The monument – measuring 3.20 m in height – was made of granite. A rock plinth with a height of 1.30 m serves as its base. On its front, you can see a bronze bas-relief with the writer's likeness, with his surname engraved below in stone. On the back, there is the first line of one of the creator's poems.
The initiator of the construction of the monument was Professor Alfons Nowack, a regional historian and an admirer of Eichendorff's work.
