The building of the Sudety Hotel is located on Jana Pawła II Avenue in Głuchołazy. It is a place where, after the yarn bleaching plant was demolished in 1877, the first sanatorium for tuberculosis patients in the town, "Juppenbad", was opened. The bathing establishment took its name from the surname of its founder – Karol Juppe. Long-time physicians of the establishment were two well-known doctors – Dr. Harbolla and Dr. Michalke, who applied the innovative healing methods of Vincenz Priessnitz in their treatment. Soon after its opening – due to its popularity – the sanatorium was expanded and modernized. At Juppenbad, Oskar Schindler became acquainted with Gritt Schwarzer – the director of the center, who introduced him to the head of the Abwehr – the military intelligence and counterintelligence of the German armed forces, who commissioned Schindler to gather military information for the organization.
The Sudety Hotel is currently a popular holiday destination. The facility has a restaurant and a bowling alley.
