The Villa of Emanuel Fränkel and Josef Pinkus in Prudnik is a representative building erected in the second half of the 19th century on the initiative of Joseph Pinkus and Augusta, daughter of Samuel Fränkel – the founder of the linen and damask weaving mill in Prudnik. The house stands along the road that led to the Fränkel textile factory, surrounded by a garden enclosed by an original forged, decorative fence. The body of the two-story building consists of two perpendicular wings, which are distinguished by classicizing architectural details. In the villa, the commercial councilor Josef Pinkus collected works of world art (including a collection of Silesian tin products and chairs of the Serbian King Alexander) and valuable, historical Judaica. In turn, his son, Max Pinkus, ran the Silesian Library in the facility from the 1880s. After World War II, the villa belonged to the Cotton Industry Plant in Prudnik – created in the nationalized factory of Samuel Fränkel. In the 1950s, it was allocated for the needs of a nursing school, and since the beginning of the 21st century, it has been the seat of the Janusz Korczak School Complex in Prudnik. Inside, the former decor and furnishings of the building have been partially preserved. The rooms feature eclectic wooden ceilings or stucco with floral motifs and allegories, and the walls of the corridors are paneled with wood with built-in mirrors and wardrobes. Practical information: The facility is generally accessible. Parking on Oławska Street (paid parking zone).
