The Municipal Bathhouse in Prudnik was built at the beginning of the 20th century from the foundation of the Jewish factory owner families Fränkel and Pinkus, owners of huge spinning mills. The Art Nouveau building was modeled on the bathing facility in the German town of Quedlinburg, from where the builder Launer was brought in to develop the building's design. The erection of the facility was entrusted to the Prudnik master builder Schinol. The building consists of two parts: the front part, with the main entrance, housing administrative rooms and commercial premises, as well as a perpendicularly positioned hall with an indoor swimming pool. The showcase of the building is its Art Nouveau facade with the main entrance through a decorative portal closed with an arch, accessed by semicircular stairs. The elevation is decorated with sculptures related to water themes – they depict frogs, turtles, catfish, seahorses, crabs, lilies, sweet flags, and seaweed.
The facility, apart from being the headquarters of the municipal sports and recreation center, houses an indoor swimming pool.
