The "Kopin" run-of-the-river hydroelectric power plant is located on the Oder river, at the Zwanowice barrage. It was built in the 1920s on the left bank of the navigation channel. Due to the agricultural character of the surrounding areas, it was mainly used to supply electric power to lock devices and agricultural farms. The free-standing power plant building houses electrical distribution equipment and a hydroelectric set with a Francis turbine manufactured by Schichau Elbing and a generator produced by Siemens Schuckert Werke. Water to the turbine is supplied through an energetic channel located parallel to the old chamber lock. At the inlet to the supplying energetic channel, there is an intake structure with gate valves.
A road bridge is situated over the channel in front of the inlet to the turbine and the flushing discharge channel. In 1976, the old needle weir was replaced by the current sector weir, and in the 1980s, a new chamber lock was added.
