The Dutch windmill in Grodków belongs to the few preserved examples of this type of industrial construction in Opole Silesia.
The windmill was erected at the end of the 19th century. In the past, there was a brickyard in its vicinity, whose last remnants in the form of chimneys were removed in the 1970s. The facility served its original function until the outbreak of World War I. In the 1960s – along with the opening of a catering establishment – storage rooms were added to the mill, and a terrace was arranged at its top.
In the 1990s, due to its poor technical condition, the wings of the windmill were dismantled and it was decommissioned. Currently, the structure is surrounded by recreational areas.
