The Piast Bridge in Brzeg is a truss road crossing on the Oder river, built in place of the older Oder Bridge damaged during World War II. The facility was opened for use in 1954. The bridge, designed by Eng. Waldemar Uchański, has a two-span truss structure made of steel angle sections, which is a typical solution for structures of this type from the end of the 19th century. To build the 120-meter Piast Bridge, two spans of the Vistula Fordon Bridge from Bydgoszcz, built in 1891, were used. The steel, riveted truss bridge is the only structure of this type on the Opole section of the Oder. Practical information: The museum can be visited by contacting its curator beforehand - Mrs. Róża Zgorzelska (phone no. 668 290 809). Sightseeing time: 1.5 hours. Free admission. Parking directly by the museum building.
