The Lewin Gate (Brama Lewińska) in Grodków is one of the two preserved (out of the original four) gate towers in the town. The structure was built in the mid-14th century, and its reconstruction took place at the beginning of the 17th century. The gate was erected from bricks in the Polish bond, with a closed passage. It is distinguished by both Gothic and Renaissance architectural elements. On the eastern and western walls of the gate (above the entrance) arrow slits are visible, while the crown of the gate is composed of pedestals in which semicircularly closed panels are connected by triangular small gables. On the pedestals there are triangularly topped pinnacles – slender turrets. Practical information: Visiting hours: Monday-Friday: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM, Saturday 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM. Paid admission. Sightseeing time: 1 hour. Free parking spaces on Grunwaldzki Square.
