The Western Gate Tower, the so-called German Gate Tower in Byczyna, is a Gothic structure built in the 15th century, together with the walls and the Eastern (Polish) Gate Tower as part of the municipal fortifications. The tower was made of broken stone, and in its upper part of brick on a square plan, presumably to the original height of the walls. Halfway up, you can see narrow arrow slits and two semi-circularly closed small windows in each elevation, placed in rectangular niches. A passage gate adjoined the tower from the north. On the ground floor, there is a pointed-arch passage pierced at the end of the 19th century, and it is covered with a flat roof.
